LAW PRACTICE
Wei Shao practices in the Business Law group in Blakes Vancouver and is a member of the firm’s China Practice group. He has experience in general corporate and business matters including corporate and project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate.

Wei Shao’s practice has a strong international emphasis. He has represented Asian investors and entrepreneurs, private and public companies in various acquisitions or investment in Canada, and Canadian and American companies in manufacturing, mining, high-tech, health care, infrastructure and financial transactions in China. He has also provided legal advice to government agencies and diplomatic missions from both Canada and China.

Wei Shao is also an interpreter accredited by the United Nations and the Federal Government of Canada. As an interpreter or consultant, Wei Shao has been involved in numerous ministerial meetings or negotiations between Canada and China, and the Team Canada missions to China.

Wei Shao is also a legal adviser for several Chinese cities, and High-Tech Development Zones.

Prior to his legal practice, Wei Shao worked for the United Nations in New York as a simultaneous conference interpreter and in that capacity, he worked for the UN General Assembly, the Security Council and International Law Committee, etc.
