LAW PRACTICE
Bob Kwauk is the Managing Partner of Blakes Beijing. His practice is concentrated on establishment of businesses in China, corporate/commercial transactions, financings, real estate and immigration law.

In China, Mr. Kwauk assists domestic and offshore clients in acquiring and divesting local investments. He has had significant experience representing Canadian and foreign clients in matters dealing with wholly owned foreign enterprises including negotiating joint venture, production, drilling, real estate development and other similar documents.

Prior to moving to Beijing, Mr. Kwauk worked in Blakes Calgary where he was involved in corporate law, financings, securities, oil and gas, and international trade law. His work experience also includes:

• Practising with a Canada/US boutique law office which specialized in assisting Canadian enterprises doing business in China and Hong Kong and Taiwanese businesses operating in Canada
• A corporate/commercial law practice in a Calgary based law firm which included a five-month secondment in Taipei; and a contract with the Canadian International Development Agency to lecture on accounting and financial matters at the Canada China Management Institute of the Jiaotong University in Xian, China.

From 1980 to 1990, Mr. Kwauk was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where he performed various criminal and national security related investigative functions in Alberta and Ottawa.
